The mission of the East Aldine Management District is to promote business expansion in the area that builds a stronger, more diversified economy and increases the economic vitality and wealth of the community. The mission will be accomplished through:
Assisting, wherever possible, in providing enhancements to the infrastructure and other support services to retain and encourage expansion within our existing businesses and encourage new businesses to locate within the District,
Working with our community education and work source partners to develop and/or enhance the availability of a skilled workforce,
Supporting entrepreneurial activities and programs and the expansion of small businesses, and
Supporting relationships between strategic partners in the business and residential communities.
2009-2010 Projects and Programs
The economic development program is geared up to provide extensive marketing and public relations activities for the District. A Business Retention, Expansion, and Attraction Program kicked-off in August. Plans are also underway to represent the District at tradeshows and other appropriate business venues and events to attract developers and other business interests to the area. We are working with our community partners, the Houston Intercontinental Chamber of Commerce, Lone Star College, Aldine ISD, the YMCA and others on a variety of programs and plans. The District also recently commissioned Community Development Strategies (CDS) to complete an Economic Development and Market Analysis Study which was released in August.
