Remember that Vicodin you never used when you got your wisdom teeth pulled? Or the codeine that came home from the hospital with you? It’s time to get them out of your medicine cabinet.

The Drug Enforcement Administration will host a drug take-back day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25. at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office storefront located at 5202 Aldine Mail Route.

It’s part of a National Take-Back Day, an opportunity for the public to anonymously surrender expired, unwanted or unused controlled substances and other medications for destruction. The idea is to keep them out of the hands of children and those looking for an illegal fix.

Tablets and capsules will be accepted, but not IV solutions, injectables and needles, and no “illicit substances” such as marijuana or methamphetamine.
