East Aldine Management District staff met with Jessica Farrar, Armando Walle’s staff, Senfronia Thompson, and Dan Huberty’s staff in Austin, TX during Bayou Day on behalf of the Greens Bayou Corridor Coaltion. The group met with Texas Legislators to express their support for the following bills:
• Full restoration of Texas Parks and Wildlife funding through dedicating sales taxes derived from sporting good sales
• Ability to use power line easements for recreational purposes and to connect bayou greenways and trails. This is very important to East Aldine’s master recreational plans.
The East Aldine group were joined by the Bayou Preservation Association and the Houston Wilderness group in the effort.
