IMG_0725The 2014 East Aldine Management District’s Project HOPE was a major project in partnership with the help of many of our district’s partners such as Rebuild Together Houston, Neighborhood Centers, The Explorer’s Program, the East Aldine clean-up crew and our community volunteers.

On December 2nd the staff of the East Aldine District (EAD) and community volunteers assisted with repairs to Mrs. Joyce Walker’s home which is located within the District. Once the materials were delivered, BMS construction volunteers who came through thanks to the District’s partnership with Neighborhood Centers helped in replacing all of the siding on the bottom half of the house, and reconstructed a new water heater enclosure.

IMG_4391On December 13th EAD District staff, neighborhood centers and BMS Construction volunteers returned to the home and completed all the siding that was installed on the bottom half of the house, weatherized and primed the outside of Mrs. Walker’s home. Lastly on January 21st, 2015 the East Aldine Post 42 Explorer’s Program came out to volunteer to help finish painting the outside of Mrs. Walker’s home.

The East Aldine District’s HOPE Project seeks to assist East Aldine homeowners with minor repairs to their homes. We provide home repair at no cost to the homeowner. The Home Outreach Program for the elderly provides home repairs such as, but not limited to: scrapping, painting, replacing siding and installing ramps for wheelchair accessibility. Applicants must reside within the East Aldine District’s boundaries which are included in the application. The home must be a single-family, owner occupied home who has an elderly or disabled family member who can show that they are unable to afford the needed repairs.

If you would like to apply to the HOPE Project, you can do so by dropping one for the applications in our office or via email.
