David Hawes, Executive Director of the East Aldine District, served as emcee for a wonderful evening of thanks and fellowship at the East Aldine District Annual Partner Awards. The Invocation was given by Steve Mead, a longtime community partner and former board member for the district.

Honoree’s included: Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Strategic Partner of the Year Award in Community; Deputy Grace Luna, Strategic Partner of the Year Award in Public Safety; Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Governmental Strategic Partner of the Year Award; Ms. Amy Corbett, Strategic Partner of the Year Award in Public Health; Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Strategic Partner of the Year Award in Business; Dr. Gerald Napoles, Strategic Partner in Education Award; Ms. Sara Garcia as Volunteer of the Year, and this year’s Chairman’s Award winner was Ms. Susan Hill with Hawes, Hill, and Associates.

This year the district also added a number of new awards including an Innovation in Public Safety, Extra Mile, and Special Recognition Awards. The Innovation in Public Safety awards were given to Sergeant Eric Stormer, and Harris County Deputies David Peterson, Raymond Radney, and Jose Pena. Scott Bean, Water and Sewer Infrastructure Director for the District, received the Extra Mile Award, and Special Recognition Awards were given to: Taylor Fitzgerald with CenterPoint Energy; Jim Ainsworth with A&S Engineers, whose firm was also the title sponsor for the event. Also receiving Special Recognition Awards for all the beautiful work they do on behalf of the district was the District’s creative team of: Roan Matthews, Cracked Fox Photography and Design; Juan Islas, e-Vision 1 Productions; and Margaret Eyster, Magoo’s Print Shop.
