Aldine youth from 6th to 12th grade wrote, produced, and starred in professional videos addressing their community concerns. Each video presents possible solutions or seeks support from different agencies to address their concerns. Aldine youth learned the art of videography from Casto Reyes, a local videographer, through an 8-week workshop series held at BakerRipley East Aldine. Topics include flooding, speeding, shooting in the air, and animal safety.

The Houston Department of Transformation is a resident-led group whose mission is to use civic engagement and tactical urbanism to create safe and beautiful communities. The HTX Video Project was led by the Houston Department of Transformation with the generous support of the East Aldine District’s community grant. Community partners BakerRipley and Avenue provided additional in-kind support.
