Virtual Community Engagement Meeting for the Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin – Phase 2

The Harris County Flood Control District will hold a virtual Community Engagement Meeting for Phase 2 of the Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin project. The purpose of this meeting is to inform residents about the status of Phase 2 of the Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin and share project information.
The Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin, located on the property of the former Castlewood Subdivision (Sections 1 & 2), is expected to reduce flooding risks during heavy rain events by safely storing excess stormwaters and slowly releasing it back to the bayou when the threat of flooding has passed. This project will be funded with bonds approved by Harris County voters on August 25, 2018. Community engagement is an important component of the Bond Program, and we invite your participation as the program is implemented.

The meeting will begin with a brief presentation to share project updates, followed by a moderated Q&A session with Flood Control District team members. Residents will be able to submit questions and comments throughout the presentation. Any comments not addressed during the Q&A session will receive a response after the event.

Reunión Virtual de Participación Comunitaria para la Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin – Fase 2

El Harris County Flood Control District llevará a cabo una reunión virtual de participación comunitaria para el discutir la Fase 2 del proyecto de Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin. El propósito de esta reunión es informar a los residentes sobre la situación de la Fase 2 del proyecto de Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin y para compartir más información.
Se espera que la Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin, ubicada en la propiedad de la antigua Subdivisión Castlewood (Secciones 1 y 2), reduzca los riesgos de inundación durante los eventos de lluvias torrenciales al almacenar de forma segura el exceso de aguas pluviales y devolverlo lentamente al brazo de río cuando la amenaza de inundación haya pasado. Este proyecto se financiará con bonos aprobados por los votantes del Condado de Harris el 25 de agosto del 2018. La participación comunitaria es un factor importante en el Programa de Bonos y le invitamos a asistir a medida que se vaya implementando el programa.
