Five years after Winter Storm Uri, Harris County marked a major step toward energy resilience with the debut of its first DERs solar project at the Precinct 2 Deputy Darren Almendarez Community Center.
Led by Adrian Garcia and joined by Sylvia Garcia and community partners, the project will help lower energy costs, reduce grid demand, and support emergency shelter operations during outages.
East Aldine Management District Executive Director Richard Cantu shared that the District is proud to support initiatives that increase sustainability, strengthen emergency preparedness, and bring innovative infrastructure to our community.
