We are losing ground in the fight against COVID-19 in Harris County and Texas. New cases are rapidly increasing and hospitals are full, but each one of us has the power to help stop the spread of this dangerous virus. There is no vaccine to prevent it, but four simple steps can – stay home as much as possible, wear a mask in public, stay 6 feet from others and wash your hands frequently.

Since many people have the virus and don’t know it, everyone should also get tested. Do it now for free at any of Harris County Public Health’s 6 drive-through sites. Four mobile sites change locations weekly and there are two stationary sites: CyFair at the Ken Pridgeon Stadium, 11355 Falcon Rd, Houston, TX 77065 and Pasadena, on the San Jacinto College Central Campus, 8060 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. Stationary sites are open 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday and mobile sites are open 5 days a week, Monday-Saturday and closed one weekday.

Sign up online at www.hcphtx.org and take the self-assessment or call 832-927-7575. Results are available in 3-5 business days. You must take the self-assessment to get an authorization code for a testing site.

Mobile locations for the week of July 6-11, Monday-Saturday are:

  • El Franco Lee Park, 9400 Hall Rd, Houston, TX 77089
    Closed Tuesday, July 7
  • LaPorte High School, 301 E Fairmont Pkwy, LaPorte, TX 77571
