EAST ALDINE, Texas – Commissioner Jack Morman began construction on Aldine Mail Route Road on Monday, June 26th. The $6 million project includes the installation of fiber-optic cables, reconstruction of the two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard with storm sewer drainage, and left-turn lane additions at key intersections from Lillja Road to Sweeney Road.

“With the help of Precinct One, this roadway will be four lanes wide from Airline Drive all the way down to Hardy Toll Road,” said Commissioner Morman. “We expect our portion to be complete in the third quarter of 2018.”

One lane in each direction will remain open for the duration of construction. Drivers are reminded to travel with caution through the work zone.
