A Note From Our Director

With increase comes the opportunity for more people to come and share your gifts and talents with others. We’re asking you to take time to ask God how you can be a blessing during this holiday season and in 2013. The Aldine CTC can use your time, talents, and financial support.

Thank you to all who have supported us during the past year and during our 22 year journey. May God continue to bless all of you and please pray for the families we serve, our staff, and our volunteers. Together, we can make a positive difference.

We are so grateful for the season of increase we are experiencing here at the Aldine Community Transformation Center. Our partnership with Buckner Children and Family Services has allowed us to expand and go deeper in serving more needs and ministering to our area families. Our Teen Enrichment Academy is developing a new program that will be able to serve 2X the number of teens, we have a new Community Resource Center, the number of youth in our after school program has increased, the number of seniors attending Senior Club has doubled, we have new programs to help with our young adults who are on probation, and many other positive changes. We wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and join us in thanking God for all His wonderful blessings.

Literacy Carnival

Last weekend Junior League of North Harris and South Montgomery Counties, Inc hosted their bi-annual Fall Literacy Carnival on Aldine C.T.C. campus. Together with Noble Energy we were able to serve 624 parents and children from Aldine community and gave away 800 books, sharing with them the joys of reading and writing. We appreciate all the participants which include HEB, Harris County Emergency Corps, Westfield Fire Department, MacArthur Cheerleaders and General Mascot, MacArthur TAFE, Chick-Fil-A, children’s author Melissa Williams, and the many other volunteers who came out help make our Literacy Carnival a special occasion for so many community youth and families. There was so much going on, free books, food, games, story time with storybook characters, a petting zoo and much more. We are grateful for the support these sponsors and all of the many volunteers gave our mission and community.

Soccer Clinics

We would like to thank Priority Associates and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for coming out this season to Pray and Play with our youth. We love and honor your commitment to Christ and the youth of the Aldine community.

Business and Education Advisory Council

We have a wonderful group of volunteers serving on our Business and Education Advisory Council, helping to develop our expanded teen job training programs – Life and Leadership and Empower2Employ. Our council has met and discussed various ideas for curriculum and resources needed. Thank you to each member who has given of their time and valuable knowledge to help ensure our teens have a better future. Please contact us if you have any resources for transportation needs, paid interns or volunteers to help with the program, T-shirts for the students, incentives and awards, scholarships, sponsors, and/or job mentors, please call us as soon as possible.

Join Our Cause

We’re just like you. We’re teachers, business executives, parents, retirees, students… you name it. But the one thing we all have in common is our dedication to change. And the more volunteers we have, the bigger impact we can all make. Together.

Holiday Toy Drive Kick-Off – Luncheon

Save the Date! Friday, November 30th from 11:30-1pm, we are hosting our Toy Drive Kick-off Luncheon here at the Center. Come and join us in helping to bring joy to area children by blessing them with Christmas toys. Our goal is to serve at least 300 children, so we need to collect 1000 toys or more. We are asking that all who attend make a $10 donation toward the purchase of toys or bring 2 toys to donate. Representatives from businesses, schools, churches, and others will be in attendance and can offer to hold toy drives and/or sponsor needy families. The toy drive will run from Nov. 30th -Dec. 14th.

Please RSVP for the luncheon by Nov. 27th and come and celebrate the holiday season by sharing and fellowshipping together. A wonderful networking event!
